In late 2018, Steve Bannon, previously Donald Trump's chief strategist, visited the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, scheduled to travel that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Protesters delayed my talk don't think I can make the plane we r enroute to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a gulf air that leaves at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon replied: "You are an amazing helper".

These exchanges were released on this week alongside more than 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the deceased financier convicted of sex crimes.

The disclosure by the Congressional committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets managed to confirm his identity by cross-referencing the timeline, events, and locations mentioned.

For example, Epstein talks about chartering a plane from the UK for the redacted user in the messages, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and gave the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon served as Trump's closest advisers in the run up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his presidency, but stepped down from the White House in August 2017.

He has acknowledged he was making a documentary about Epstein prior to his death and reportedly has around 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his podcast recently, he stated: "We plan to publish the film, the five-part series, next year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed materials indicate Bannon's connection with Epstein went further than documenting his life, with the disgraced financier at times seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A few days prior to the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon thanked him: "You are pretty good asst", to which Epstein replied "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are taken care of."

UK Politics Mentioned in Messages

The published communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year.

On the day of his speech at the Oxford, Bannon texted Epstein: "I became involved in the Brexit issue this day with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a reference to Theresa May, the struggling British leader at the period, he added: "The guys are trying to move on. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "In my view remaining as much as you can uk. Best-- so people see the commitment of your follow-up."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Can Theresa may survive". Bannon answered: "I don't see how however the people over here have no balls" and noted "Johnson ; Gove; Rees Mogg; Davis - someone has to step up".

Theresa May was finally toppled in 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A representative for Reform UK informed the BBC: "Nigel Farage has never been in a gathering with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide soon on whether the justice department should make public all its files related to its probe into Epstein, who died in jail in that year.

Attention in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed recently after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The president was a acquaintance of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they fell out in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was initially charged.
